Rhone Valley

The Rhône Valley has been a hub of wine culture since ancient times and is just as popular today. Cotes du Rhone can be classed as one of the best wine regions in the world providing truly sublime character.

In the south, Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Tavel, Lirac, and the Cotes du Rhone are the important regions in the Rhone Valley.

The Northern Rhone, only allows one red grape by law, Syrah but they are also allowed blend in up to 20% white wine grapes with their red wine. This is most often often done in Cote Roite.

  2. Olivier Ravoire 'Plan de Dieu' Cotes du Rhone Villages
    Rating:
    0%

It's luscious and creamy for a Rhône red, almost channelling the crowd-pleasing GSM (grenache-syrah-mourvèdre) wines of Australia, with plum and chocolate flavours. But the invigorating herbal note betrays its French terroir.

Perfect for braised red meats, such as lamb stew.

    100% of 100

The word Villages on a Côtes du Rhône label indicates a step up in quality and wines of richer fruit and depth. That is certainly the case of this top vintage Cairanne red - lush and velvety with long blackberry ripeness.

Expressive aromas of black and red fruits, coffee and leather. Rich, ripe, velvety black fruit and spice flavours. Long finish

    100% of 100

Chateauneuf du Pape Olivier Ravoire is seriously impressive. Loaded with notions of black raspberries, blueberries, garrigue and sappy flowers, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit and sweet, polished tannin.
