Schild Estate Moorooroo Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2019, Australia
Aromatically a real sense of balance pervades with intense, but pert and alive aromas of compote black berry fruit, dark chocolate and faint spice so often associated with Shiraz appearing early. On the palate the wine opens with an unctuous mouth filling attack, but still shows fresh and balanced and without any hint of heaviness. Primary dark fruit remains ever present and a super fine tannin frame pins in the fruit just enough to provide a clear target for the line of travel and ensures the fruit lingers long on the end of the palate. Tightly coiled in its youth and will benefit from a decant.
