Poggio Le Volpi Roma Rosso Edizione Limitata, Italy
Dark ruby red and bright, of great substance. Intense and complex on the nose with sensations of ripe red and black fruits like cherries in alcohol, plum, wild berries, then spicy notes as cardamom, china, nutmeg and black pepper, followed by blue flowers and underbrush, and a very pleasant balsamic note in the end.
Smooth in the mouth, pleasantly tannic, great in the aromatic progression, well balanced, elegant and very long in persistence.
Pairing: It goes well with pasta dishes with game, grilled red meats, medium-aged cheeses.

The Limited Edition of Roma Doc by Poggio Le Volpi is our highest expression of denomination. Montepulciano, Syrah and Cesanese grapes come from the same vineyards of Rome Doc, but only the best bunches compete for its production. After this meticulous selection, the fermentation is carried out in steel at controlled temperature, followed by refining for about one year in barriques. The wine is produced in very few numbers, which aspires to become a point of reference for the denomination and flagship for the company productions. Roma Doc Limited Edition is a wine with bright, deep and intense color, dark olfactory sensations, and an aromatic strength of the wine varietals that make up the blend.

Roma Doc Limited Edition is a tribute to a territory, that of Rome, on which the sun never sets. The well-known Lazio Cantina for its evocative wine seems to have been inspired by this principle: Roma Doc is the most recent Lazio appellation and includes one of the most important territories of all for the mineral strength of the earth shaped by the Lazio Volcano. It comes from a soil of volcanic, pozzolanic and sandy soils, located in hilly areas that benefit from the influence of sea winds. The grapes of origin are Montepulciano, Syrah and Cesanese.
